Isn't it Ironic.. Don't you think?

So I'm sure everyone has heard of the whole Cash for Clunkers thing, right? Well it's been a conversation topic of many the past week. Anthony has even looked up my car to see what I would qualify for and how much a new car would cost me. It sounds like a great idea get a new car with free money. Last night we had another conversation about it and he was trying to convince me to just do it. My whole thing is I don't want to buy a new car until mine is done-zo. I don't want a car payment and definitely don't want to have to pay for full coverage! I rather travel and do fun stuff with that money. Who cares what kind of car you drive? I don't. I have had the same car since highschool. It's been a trusty companion on many adventures. Yes, it's given me some grief but what car hasn't? Plus I have been lucky to have car mechanics in my life.



This morning I drove to work. My car started just fine. Ready to take me to my destination.

This afternoon at work I had to go do some office errands. Someone offered to go but i said no that i would do it. I love to get out of the office when I can. I walk over to big blue as I like to call her, keys in my hand, open the door and slide in. Key goes into ignition. Turn..Turn...Turn.. Nothing. No roar from the engine, no stereo blasting me with music... nothing. You have got to be kidding me!? Why won't you start!? And all I could think about was that I should have turned my car in last night for the cash for clunkers deal.



Ironic.

The past couple of weeks have been really busy. I haven't much felt like updating either. I don't know why, just haven't. When I come home from work I don't really feel like being on my computer because I'm staring at one for 8 hours a day. So it's tough for me to go home and get stuff done like updating, uploading pictures, etc.

My summer thus far though has been good though.

I went up to Reno the 2nd weekend in July for a nice little visit with some family and more VIP clubbin' :)

The 3rd weekend in July was really fun. I went down to Roseville to meet up with Erica and her friend Nicole. We hung out and had lots of fun and the next morning we woke up early and drove to San Francisco for the AIDS Walk. ( I will get a post up soon dedicated to it with pictures)

Last weekend I went to the NHRA races with my family. It's a annual thing that we have been doing for the past 4 years. I think this was my last year of going though for many reasons. It's fun to see all the funny cars and drags but why does the beer have to cost $8 dollars+... ?

The 2nd weekend in August, Brittney and I are going to Redwood City for the weekend to visit with our great grandmother and cousins. I'm excited to see them. It's been a long time.

And of course the next week in August is the Nevada County Fair. I go everyday. :) I eat my way through it. It's the main reason for going now. I don't go on rides anymore. I just like to go and see people and eat.

The weekend before we leave for Florida is Erica's birthday. So i'm sure lot's of fun parties are to be had. yay!

August 24th Erica and I leave for Florida. :)

Sept 4th=Rib Fest! Another annual event of the summer. It's in Reno and it's a big party.

Sept 12th= Blink 182 Concert! YAY!

*SEPT 17TH= MY BIRTHDAY....23....EWW.

Sept 20th= Triathlon. I'm nervous.

So I'm pretty booked up until Fall.

Fair Entries

I'm going to enter some photos into the Nevada County Fair again. Here are the ones I'm thinking about doing.. what do you think?

This one I'm going to enter into the "Nevada County Scenes" category. 

Which one out of the those? I like the close up because you can really see just how big and colorful it is. But I like the far away version too because it shows the surround areas and gives a bit more to look at. 

I'm also thinking about doing either a animal entry category or a plant. Here are some of the ideas I have: 

4th of July Weekend

My weekend.. here are a few things to describe it:

Old friends, ex boyfriends, honeymoon (the beer), staying up too late, van sleeping, parades, bbqs, homemade ice cream sandwiches, naps, fireworks, family, swimming, sun burning, pizza eating, cleaning, and relaxing. My weekend was pretty busy but super fun. :) I sure am tired today...

My weekend was what summer is all about. I can't wait for more fun times during this 2009.

About me.

I'm uber sensitive. 

I'm very emotional.

I feel strongly. 

I have high anxiety. 

But I do know that I'm smart. And that I'm beautiful. And that each freckle on my face was perfectly placed. And that my emotions are worth something. That I have a great things to say. That I'm strong: mind, body, and soul. That I can and will do something good with my life. 

And when I smile too big you can't even see my eyes.

summer weekend

I'm tired from relaxing.. has that ever happened to you?

This weekend I really didn't do anything too physical. I went camping 3 and 1/2 hours away in Nevada. At a place called Walker River Resort which is like a little desert oasis. I laid out in the sun by the pool that they have on the camp grounds, ate some food, read a little of my book (A million Little Pieces by James Frey), did one trip out on the dirt bike (yes, I kinda know how to ride), and basically relaxed some more. The sun does it to me. It drains out every bit of energy I might have. It was fun though and just what I needed which was to get away. On the way home Anthony and I stopped in Tahoe for lunch. I love Lake Tahoe. I wish we weren't pooped so we could have played there a bit longer.

This next weekend is the 4th of July! Yay!

Happy Sunday

This fella is going to be in town tomorrow for a race in my town... 30,000+ people are expected to come out to the small, narrow, crowded streets of Nevada City. I'm one of the crazy people that will attempt this tomorrow. Should be interesting. Oh btw, that's Lance Armstrong. ;)

So it's official... I get to take a trip this summer. Erica and I are going to Florida. :) Ft.Lauderdale and Orlando to be exact!!! We are going to try and drive down to Key West (weather permitting... august=prime hurricane month for Florida..JOY), enjoying some beach time in Miami, trying some yummy Cuban food, and playing at Disney World for a day, and lets not forget shopping!! Then we plan on driving up through Georgia (hitting Savannah and possibly Atlanta), South Carolina and then stopping in Charlotte, North Carolina where our friend Tony lives. I can't wait to try some Southern food, BBQ included! We plan on flying home from Charlotte but I kinda of have an idea working up in my mind.... I think it would be fun to head up to Washington, DC and have Anthony fly in and meet me there, spend a few days checking out the sites. Then take a train up to NYC! How fabulous would that be? We will see about that though..

If it doesn't work out, Ant and I are still planning a trip for NYC for later in the year. Oct-Nov 09.

This summer is shaping up to be a good one. Bring on the heat!

My actual Bike

So I didn't end up getting the bike I originally wanted. I ended up with this sweet Cannondale! I love the white even though I was really set on the orange. The reason I didn't get the other bike was because they didn't have anymore in stock and they can't order anymore from Specialized because they aren't sure if they will be making that bike for 2010. I ended up really liking this bike and it ended up being an upgrade for a few dollars more. Sweet! Can't wait to ride!
