Kiwi's!!

(The young ones in our Luge gear after coasting down the slope in Rotorua, NZ)

I'm excited to see these people again. We share a lot of fun memories.

We saw things that only we can describe. We learned things that only you can do by being in New Zealand. We experienced the Kiwi culture together.

We laughed, sang, and had a ton of inside jokes.

We drank the Kiwi Beer, ate the Maori foods, and learned the lingo of the land.

I recommend all that haven't done so to do a study abroad program..to anywhere. The memories, the people, and the experience is priceless.

Well I'm back from New Zealand!

I had an incredible time in the country of the long white cloud. It's a beautiful place full of adventure, excitement, and lovely people. I can't wait until I get the opportunity to go again, although it will never be how I experienced it this trip. I went with a close girlfriend on a study abroad program through the local college. I met a ton of neat people and I hope I stay friends with them for along time. When you share the experience of travel with people it's hard to let them go. I will get some pictures of up from the 2 week adventure soon!

i'm off

I sure had a wonderful Christmas yesterday. A little stressful trying to get here and there
but it all worked in the end. Anthony got me a lot of nice gifts. He is really great at picking out the right things!

Well I'm off to the airport in 3 hours. I won't have my computer while I'm in New Zealand.
Peace out! ;)

ahhhh...

So i leave for New Zealand on Friday. It's really all too surreal. This will be a trip of a lifetime.
I can't wait!
I'm pretty excited for Christmas too. I want to give Ant his presents. I hope that he likes them. :)
It snowed a lot here last weekend (12/14/08). I will have to get some pictures up of just how beautiful it was. It kind of sucked at the same time because we had to drive over the summit from Reno and it took 5 hours to get home when it should take an hour and half tops. OH well. It's pretty much all gone now though. It's fun while it lasted.
Pictures soon to come and a yummy recipe for Turkey Chili! :)

The Count Down!

15 days until Christmas!
16 days until New Zealand!
21 days until 2009!

I really can't wait until I'm on the plane for Auckland, New Zealand. It's really a one in a lifetime experience. I'm glad that my friend Lacie told me about this trip and asked me to go with her. I don't regret spending $4000 from my "car fund" to have 2 weeks full of new and exciting things.
The only thing that makes it a bitter sweet trip is spending new years away from my boy. Not being able to kiss him when the clock strikes 12am! I will actually be celebrating the New Year a whole 21 hours before anyone in California which is actually a pretty cool thing. Oh and when i come home i get to live the same day twice! crazy...
