A few weeks ago my sister bought a new bow and arrow.

She shot it.

I shot it.

I was happy about it.

And no animals were harmed!

But seriously shooting bow and arrows is fun. And damn good strength exercises for your arms. I want to target shoot again! =)

again???

Seriously guys...It's snowing again. Now don't get me wrong, I love the snow!! It's fun, beautiful, and even magical. BUT it's spring time now and I want sunshine and birds singing! Sandles and t-shirts!
I know there are serious issues going on around the world and I shouldn't complain about such trivial things.....but I'm allowed to right?
Maybe one day I will see the sun again! Until then...HELLO SNOW!
Oh did I mention that I live in CALIFORNIA!? Go figure...

on the go!

Remember that good news that I mentioned last week? Well....
I booked my flight to COSTA RICA!!! Yay!
I got a super good deal on them (at least i think so? lol)! Two round trip tickets from San Fran to San Jose, Costa Rica for $1230. So $615 each.
I used my tax return to buy the tickets and will continue to save a little each week until we leave in May. Also since I have been taking so much time off from work I'm going to be working an extra hour each day to gain some extra time. Starting work at 7am is tough..especially since the time change and the darkness. It will be worth it though! =)
I feel like if you want to do something then you have to make it happen. So that's what I'm doing!
Now we are trying to figure out what we want to see and do while there. Any suggestions?

sad stuff

I originally planned on sharing some exciting news but then I woke up to the news of the earthquake/tsunami that hit Japan. I would feel completely selfish if I spouted off on the my news.
My friend Macky is from Japan and he recently visited his parents that live there still. He said that his parents are o.k and I'm just thankful for that!
But for the hundreds who aren't.. I want to take this day to pray and mourn. Scary stuff is happening in this world.
I hope everyone has a good weekend but keeps the people of Japan in their hearts!
My exciting news can wait until Monday! =)

snow snow snow!

A couple weeks ago my area (Northern California) was hit with a big storm! We got about a foot of snow. The power was knocked out at my house for over 24 hours (lots of other places were out for up to 5 days!) I had a snow day on that Friday and so did most of the town. I love snow! We probably get one good storm per winter and this one didn't disappoint!

Anthony and I had fun walking around town. It was the perfect way to start out the weekend. Spring can come anytime now.. I had my winter fill for the year. =)

Nashvegas!

Hey y'all... Nashville was a good time.

Photobucket

Every person we spoke to was super nice, helpful, and just generally friendly. I liked that about this city.

Music city u.s.a and we took advantage of that by listening to lots of live bands in the bars on Broadway. We watched a group of guys called The Springs. And you guys... if you like country music then you would like them. I have a feeling they are going to make it big time. I'm even facebook friends with a few of the members... haha!

One thing I didn't like about Nashville: The taxi's. They are expensive. I advice you rent a car while staying in this city or don't stay at the Opryland Resort (beautiful, big, lovely.. but 10 miles from town). OR become familiar with the the public transit like we did. 1.60 into town compared to $25+tip! I think so.

We visited the Parthenon which is near Vanderbilt University. Beautiful. Especially with the backdrop of the fresh snow.

We took a tour of the Grand ole Orpy. It was neat to see and I learned a lot about the history of the place. Plus saw the effects of the flooding that happened in 2010.

I would definitely go back to Nashville. A few things I would do differently are: stay downtown to avoid taxi fares, rent a car so i can venture further off the beaten path, check out more local restaurants (being a self proclaimed foodie.. i feel like i didn't get a good culinary experience but we were on limited time and budget), and i would go during the summer. (it was freezing!!).

I can't wait to do more traveling around the USA.

come and gone

Well kids.. February has come and gone.. for a shorter month I still managed to squeeze as much as possible into it. Let's do a recap shall we?

-My sister Erica and her boyfriend Chris came up from LA for a fun visit. We were experiencing spring like weather while they were here. Went on a lovely little hike, ate yummy food, went to the bar, and had a great time catching up. =)

-Superbowl! Greenbay won. I wasn't really routing for anyone in particular..so either way it turned out was good.

-Traveled to Nashville, TN for the very first time. It was freezing over there and it even snowed. My friend Kim and I had a blast though. We went honkey tonking on Broadway, had mid-day beers, and went taxi broke.

(a picture i found online that was taken of us in Tooties)

-Spent the weekend with Leslie down in the Bay Area with her family. We saw Avenue Q at the Orpheum in San Francisco. Paid too much to get into a club in Walnut Creek. Explored Oakland. And had an interesting time at the bars in Martinez. It was a blast! Can't wait to go again! =)

-We went from having beautiful spring like weather for the first half of February to having total winter conditions for that later half. We had a huge snow storm hit us the last weekend of February. We got about a foot of snow at my house. It was beautiful and very fun! Anthony and I both had snow days last Friday! The one bad part is all of Nevada County was left powerless for days.

-Anthony finally fixed my computer as well! =) Its been a long month with no computer.

I'm looking forward to March! It's going to be a fun month full of plans! =) Plus Spring officially starts and we spring forward too! Yay for longer days! It gives me butterflies just thinking about it.

Cheers!
