imperfection

You know those girls that can go to the gym, work out, and not even drip a sweat? The ones that can run and run then leave the gym and continue on with the rest of their day? Ya... I'm not one of them. When I work out, I'm like a man. I sweat and turn bright red. My hair is ruined and my makeup is gone. It's a bit annoying. I just returned from a little run/jog this evening and I'm dripping. If I had to go anywhere tonight I would have to shower and reapply everything. I feel like it's a good thing to sweat a lot though. It's like releasing all the bad toxins in your body. It's a natural coolant.

In that case, I wouldn't trade my sweaty back and my bright red face for the prior option. I need to learn to love my body for what it is... mine.

oh Dear...

Dear Autumn,
I dream about your cooler days. The fresh air. And the chilly nights. This 90+ weather is just too much. Let's take it down a notch. Si?

Dear NYC,
I miss you. Can we meet again soon?

Dear Marshalls Pasties,
I'm craving one ever since I walked into the place on Saturday. I think I'm going to come get a pasty tonight for dinner.

Dear Anthony,
I hope you feel better but I will beat you up if you get me sick. =)

Dear San Francisco,
I'm looking forward to my weekend visit in a few weeks. I hope it's sunny when I arrive. If not, I will forgive you since I know you can't help it.

Dear 49ers,
Will you please start playing like you were in preseason? I want to see a Win! Especially when I'm there watching you play against the Eagles.

Dear Friday,
You can come now.

here we are again

This weekend went by way too fast like usual. I had a really great one though. My sister who moved down to So Cal a year ago came up to visit and brought her new boyfriend. It was a quick trip for them but it was great to hang out with them. :)

We went out to the bars on Friday night when they got into town.

On Saturday, I took Erica and Chris out to Breakfast at my favorite spot in GV/NC: South Pine Cafe. If ever in the area I really suggest you go there.

Chris is from Southern California and hasn't really spent any time in Northern California. He kept making fun of us and giving us a hard time for the small town we are from. It was all just a front though because I know he really loved it up here and I secretly think he would move up here. We ended up going into a local wine tasting room in downtown Grass Valley to sample a few... you know, the normal Northern California thing to do. =) It was quite good.

We also went to the Empire Mine and just walked around. It was a beautiful day. It was a little on the hot side for this time of year but it was nice. They had a wedding to go at 3:30 so we part ways. And i took a wonderful nap.... sigh. I love naps.

On Sunday I had a fabulous day with my mommy! We went down to Roseville and did lots of shopping. We also got pedicures and did lunch. It was perfect. I really enjoy hanging out with my mom.

I hope you all had an AWESOME weekend as well! Enjoy the week ahead!

spoiled girl

Anthony spoils me on birthday and on Christmas. Simple as that. He spends way to much money. I'm not going to lie. I enjoy it. =)

This year for my birthday he bought me a pair of these babies:
They are really nice shoes! I have took them out twice this week for a run. I hope to make it more often. I need to exercise.......

He also got me this beauty: A Nikkor DX VR 18-200mm F3.5-5.6

It's such a nice lens!! The image quality is awesome!

the big day

Birthday Buddies =)

My birthday was awesome. It was exactly how I wanted it to go. My co workers took me to an awesome lunch at one of my favorite restaurants. We also had frozen yogurt and bought lotto tickets. Then I got to leave an hour early. =)

After work I headed over to my friends house because her husband and I have the same birthday so we were having a joint birthday bbq.

All the friends I care most about were there. We ate, drank, played beer pong, talked, and LAUGHED. It was great!

We both took bites out of the cake. It was actually pretty funny. I haven't done that since I was turning one ;) haha!

The weekend continued to be great. Anthony and I went to an Italian Festival. Wish I would have had my camera to get some yummy food shots. sigh..

Sunday, Anthony and I relaxed, ate yummy sandwiches, sat at Starbucks with our laptops, saw Going the Distance with Drew Barrymore, and then had another birthday get together at my moms house. I love that my mom still takes the time to celebrate my birthday with a cake and everything. I love her.

Well here's to 24 years down and hopefully a lot more great ones ahead.

In the Kitchen...

I'm at it again this week. I tried out a Zucchini Soup recipe. I love zucchini. It has to be one of my favorite vegetables because of it's versatility. I found the recipe from one of my favorite food blogs. I adapted a little bit. Plus all the veggies were from a local farmers market. =)

Find the Recipe HERE~ I'm lazy and don't feel like typing it out! haha but incase your curious... Instead of the bread I used corn tortillas. I also used a whole jalapeno instead of a half. And next time I think I'm going to try and some diced green chiles. =) Oh and I also topped it off with some sour cream.

In the kitchen...

I made a bomb dinner last night. I like to cook but I just don't do it often. Plus when I do I'm so klutzy that I usually spill something at least once. Last night for instances I was making peanut sauce and the whisk flung out of the plan. I had sauce on me and my stove. Oh well.

Anyways, I made beef and broccoli with a peanut sauce and served over rice. It was pretty darn good.

Peanut Sauce Recipe

- 3 Tablespoons of peanut butter

- 2 Tablespoons of soy sauce

- 1 or 2 garlic cloves, minced

- 1 Tablespoon brown sugar

- 1/3 cup water

- a few squirts of lemon juice

It turned out really yummy! This served about 2 people so you could double or triple if you were serving a multiple people.

Please excuse the poor quality of the images. They are taken with my BlackBerry. One of the things I enjoy about fall most is I cook more often. I want to try to do more fun recipes. I think my next one will be this zucchini soup recipe I found. Wish me luck...

heat of the moment

Skipping a few much needed updates on events from the summer and going to Labor Day weekend. Every Labor Day weekend (for the past 5 years) has been spent in Reno, NV. I have family that lives there and we all just get together for one big party...and for the Rib Fest (sorry vegetarians!)

First off lets start with Friday. I picked up my sister from our parents house and we were on our way to get Anthony... And my car broke down. Lame. It's all better now...and we got there after a change of vehicles!

Saturday and Sunday were spent relaxing on the river, eating ribs, family time, listening to live bands ( Gin Blossoms {hey jealousy} and Asia {heat of the moment}), drinking 24oz cans of Coors Light on the street (reminder... We were in Reno, anything goes there. Kinda like Vegas) gambling at the most ghetto casino in Reno (The Sands), and going out for the cousins 21st birthday! Good times were had.

Anthony and I hanging out in by the River that runs through the city.

Brit and I showing some sisterly love and sharing our ice cream :)

My Crazy Family!

Brittney (Anthony's sister), me, and my sister Brittney. BTW Brittney on the right took all these pictures... I stole them. :)

My cousin Trevor who just turned 21, myself, and Anthony. Being crazy at the Rib Fest.

My sister and I mowing down on some yummy Ribs!!

question marks

You know how many times I have opened up bloggger and clicked on 'new post' and then starred at the blank white screen... thinking hmm.. i know there was something that I wanted to say, pictures i wanted to share...but I draw a blank. This blank space can be intimidating sometimes.

Every blogger is different on their level of openness. Some people just post happy posts. Things that they did, pictures, and keep it on a pretty basic level of who they are (Which is definitely not a bad thing!). While other bloggers put it all out there...they dive down deep to who they are as a person to how they feel, what scares them and what makes them happy. They are raw and open.

I guess I'm trying to figure out who I want to be as a member of this community.
